"Victory Loves Preparation" from the movie "Mechanic" and "Now, the more you sweat here, the less you'll bleed in battle", from "300". Both quotes make me think that there is no little enemy; underestimate any adversary can lead to fatal/undesirable resolutions.

"It don't matter what you deserve...some times you just get what you get." - The Unforgiven.  Pretty sure this quote isn't 100% accurate but you get the meaning behind.  I like this because at the time I was watching this movie I was getting over being rejected by someone.  She was the 'right one' people said I'd meet some day.  I had a lot of bad experience with dating and relationships for so long so getting the brush off hurt real bad, especially since my last GF was 6yrs before.  So this line really hit me and helped me come to terms with things.
