I got it online from Ancestry, it was pretty simple. they send you the kit, you spit in the tube and send it back. I think it took about 6 weeks to get results, apparently science takes time lol It's hard for me to say that I basically come from colonizers. But I believe it to be true. The timeline adds up as well as the locations. Now there is 1% native on there and that comes from one woman who a man in my family married. The story says they ran off to be married and the man of my family was shunned because interracial marriage was looked down on back then. I was worried about this, was this a willful marriage? Was she bought from a residential school or stolen? My father confirms the story how he has been told it that they willfully ran off together. I'm skeptical but hopeful. I do not claim any hatred that my ancestors have likely put onto indigenous or people of color. I am teaching my daughter to treat everyone with equal chances and fairness. The best I can do is do better, break any generational curses and just make the world a better place in general.

So I nose dived into making our family tree, I have the family name back to the 1600s and found some information from 1068 with our name in it! I think it's pretty cool. I did the DNA test, I'm mostly from England, Scotland and a little bit of Norway so that's pretty cool! I really want to learn more about Scotland's history and lore I've always found it interesting. Anyone else a genealogy nerd or have cool stores to share? I really like history, there's some cool stories about my family to be recorded that I don't want forgotten with the next generations.

Well that's good news. I hope we can get to that point this summer. We're also really slow on vaccinations, I think right now it's older generations and essential workers.

It's the main city for us. Our numbers were basically none with a few in the city every once and a while. But now it's spread like wildfire and we're all paying for it because of a few irresponsible people. I don't socialize anyway but I would like things to hurry up and go back to normal. I had to postpone my mothers funeral/celebration of life ceremony for the second time. They say the end of May but with numbers still rising on our second week of lockdown I think it will be into the summer that we will still be in lockdown. Well, my province recently went into lockdown again. We were doing so good for numbers too, we had a chance at a semi normal summer. *le sigh* oh well. Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe. Don't forget to take care of yourself during these times. How is everyone's weekend going?

IMVU was another one I didn't really understand haha it was so awkward.

No one is perfect and I'm sure we can all agree. However some people get so lost in their toxic behaviors I just don't feel like they'll ever return. I've had a very up and down relationship with my mother-in-law. She used to treat me as her own, but now I understand this was because I wouldn't say no to her and would do things her way. As I got older(I've been with her son for 10 years) I began to say no and make my boundaries very well known. Well, now our close relationship is no more, she will cry and say she has no kids, that they don't love her anymore and she has been shunned from the family. I state how this isn't true she just needs to accept boundaries (Especially when it comes to my daughter) and she refuses to see things from any perspective that isn't her own.. It's so frustrating, I'm honestly at wits end and don't know what to do. Every time she insists that she is the victim that she could never do anything wrong. sorry for the rant here.. They say to cut out toxic people from your life, it's honestly easier said then done since she made it a point to build a very strong relationship with our daughter and makes me feel guilty. But I really don't want that influence in my daughters life.. Has anyone else dealt with someone like this?? What do you do in this situation?🥴

I'm so sorry I lost my mom Oct. 2020 and it still stings every single day, not a day goes by that I don't just wish I could pick up the phone and tell her what we did for the day or what milestones my daughter is hitting. I keep pushing through because I know she'd want me to. My daughter and boyfriend keep me moving everyday and I'm so grateful for that. My advice... Feel your grief, remember that everyone does it differently and some people need longer than others. My grandmother passed in Jan 2020 and my aunt still has bad days. And that's perfectly okay! It will get easier to live with

Or am I just old at heart? Anyone have a Gen Z in their life? My 14 year old niece didn't know that < 3 makes a heart in messenger. No idea what emo "was". Doesn't even know who Brittney Spear is.
