Trappernicus Posted April 25 Posted April 25 (edited) Okay, what are you ready to die for? Is there something you feel strongly about and are willing to lay down your life? Edited April 26 by Trappernicus Spelling mistake Quote
Omen Posted April 25 Posted April 25 I dont know if people count but a few family members and friends. If not I really dont know. 1 Quote
Trappernicus Posted April 27 Author Posted April 27 Some people have little to live for so asking them what they would be willing to die for is like asking them if there's any difference between them being alive or dead. Not much difference really. 1 1 Quote
ABlackViolet Posted April 28 Posted April 28 Considering there's nothing after this life, I don't really know. Death is much less poetic, ever since I stopped being a theist. 1 Quote
Omen Posted April 28 Posted April 28 Yeah if I believed there was no afterlife I don't think anything would be worth it. 1 Quote

I just said death is no longer poetic. I guess if I were trying to save a loved one, I may die, but I don't even think I'd die for my lack of belief because society needs more secular minds to progress. If it weren't for secularism, people would still be burned at the stake for not believing in things that haven't been proven to be true in the first place. Religion causes destruction of society time and time again throughout history. Edited April 29 by ABlackViolet 1 1 Quote

I wasn't implying you said that. 1 Quote

amigaArcania Posted April 29 Posted April 29 I think family/loved ones is a good answer here. I think more selfishness in life (well, looking out for number 1) is good but with these as the exception 2 1 Quote

I wasn't implying you said that. For the record: As a Christian, I don't remember thinking, "I'd die for Jesus," but as a Pagan, I definitely thought, "I'd die for Isis." Now, I look back and realize how silly that was. Every religion that has ever existed has had martyrs. That proves that those people believed strongly in their deity/deities; however, at the end of the day, no religion has ever been proven to be true. 1 1 Quote
