  1. G'day! I'm Karlos2006 but I'm thinking about changing my profile name. I'm a Goth but it was a long time coming. I've liked the Goth subculture since I was 14 but didn't fully turn into one until my later 30's. I was a VF refugee and now I'm a GG refugee! 😂 I'm totally up for meeting new Goth people but also kinda' hoping to find my GG friends on here....
  2. I can't stand prejudice of any kind be it race, religion, or gender. So naturally I hate sexism as well. But after reading various books on Feminism and text books on Behavioral Psychology it got me thinking; Where does the root of misogyny come from? Is it - From the Middle East as that part of the world is notorious for misogyny. Ancient Rome, their culture was a bit sexist against women but they worshipped female deities Ancient Greece, but they reflect Rome as mentioned before. Or is it Africa? Africa does have some misogyny in its culture and North Africa is the source of humanity. So where does it come from!?
  3. "the lord works in mysterious ways" I grew up going to a Christian school and i always hated this expression. I always thought "the lord works in scientific ways." For me Science and Religion co-exists because Science is just the details to everything. As for the David Attenborough quote, it's an echo of the Epicurean Paradox. Being a Pagan, my thoughts are that nature is our God but not everything about nature is 'nice' But nature has a power over us and we have some power over it, so we need to try and work with it. Carl Sagan said it best with - "God isn't an old man sitting in the cloud ready to award us or punish us at a whim. God is the Universe..." (Paraphrase)
  4. So I saw that NIN have done the soundtrack to Tron: Ares. Am I the only one excited about this? Has anyone else noticed other movies that Trent Reznor/NIN have done soundtracks for?
  5. I love this band! I find them spiritually uplifting and soothing. But one thing I've noticed is they don't do cheerful and upbeat songs, except for....Solringen. I love that song and would like to hear more songs like it!
  6. G'day, GothicChurro! I keep saying "I'm Australian so I don't know this!" It's a bit conservative down here so if I try talking about this with other people, they don't know about it. I have to explain nearly everything. From memory I think there's a Goth on YT called JK Rasa who did a video on these bands....
  7. I joined a local Roller Derby League about 10 years ago and noticed, it tends to attract a lot of Goths and Alternative types for some reason. So this association just stuck in mind therefore I thought I'd create this page. I've looked up 'Goths on Roller Skates' on YouTube thinking 'I'm imagining things and won't find anything relevant' but surprisingly I did find a few videos. Anyway, I'll post Roller Derby and Roller Skating stuff here and if your interested please check it out! I figured I'd start with this; https://www.naptownrollerderby.com/ A Roller Derby team from Indianapolis, Indiana, USA. They have a really cool logo, and being Indiana they're a great team (Indiana Roller Derby teams are the best!) Unfortunately I can't seem to order merch from them so....if you live in the US order some. Their merch looks AWESOME!
  8. Pardon my ignorance but I'm Australian and don't know stuff, what is "vkei?"
  9. G'day! I had this profile for a while but obviously didn't check it on a regular basis. I think I'll start haunting this site a bit more frequently....
