  1. Just finished Soul on Fire, the life and music of Peter Steele. Currently tearing through HIM - Synnin Viemää. A Finnish-only autobiography of the band's exploits. Reveals their piss and poop-related humor, alcoholic ramblings and general deliquency. A fantastic read!
  2. I'd like to be able to believe, but I'm an atheist. Not based on faith, but common sense. I'm fairly certain that we return to the place we were in before our birth when we die.
  3. ...Oooh! And perhaps a little more support for artists, entrepreneurs and the like. This site isn't too focused on promoting what you do which, to me as an artist, kinda blows.
  4. Despite not being personally interested in the idea anymore, some sort of instant chat would be nice. I remember wasting hours upon hours back on the original Vampire Freaks' chatrooms. These forums are OK, but it doesn't give one the instant gratification of instant messaging. It also may be a good way to keep some younger people hooked if they end up stumbling here and creating an account, even.
  5. Too middle-class American for my taste.
  6. So my label informed me that my band Sirakh's January debut gets released in Japan on August 25th... Not bad news, not bad at all!

Sirakh - Crisis of Faith, out soon in the land of Seppukuous pleasures of Sashimi!

  7. Why the fuck? ...See what I did there? Eheheh! Eheheh! Eeeeh...
  8. So #Spotify is willing to pay me ~16€ for ~6k streams (they used to pay me 20€ for 2k back in the day, mind you.) and TikTok pays me nine cents for 15k streams. ...In the words of Andy McCoy: "I mean c'mon, where's the justice there?"

  9. I never had a long-term dream job until I turned 12. I wanted to be a rock star. Still do, although I've given up on dreams of fame and fortune and do it simply because I spent most of my youth on learning how to shred on the guitar instead of learning any valuable career skills. Oh well. I'll live.
  10. The New Batman Adventures, TMNT 2003 series, Justice League/Justice League Unlimited, Dragon Ball Z, Johnny Bravo, Edd, Edd 'n Eddy... The late 90's-2000's. Man, what a time to grow up!
  11. So there have been a literal crap ton of arguments regarding what classifies as "goth" throughout the near-50 year history of the genre. I figured we would put an end to this debate once and for all and form a concensus on what does and does not pass as actual "goth" music. Here's my take. Let's start with the easy ones: Lackluster and cheap production values. If it's too clean, it begins to stray away from the genre's punk roots. Chorus. And lots of it. Chorus in guitars, chorus in bass, chorus fucking everywhere. Same goes for reverb. Bassy and overdone, theatrical vocals that would sound absolutely ridiculous in any other form of music. A clear favoritism for keys like A minor, E minor and sometimes perhaps B minor. Artists doing their best to distance or completely separate themselves from the label of "goth" while only managing to widen the genre's perspective.
  12. An offputting mixture of coffee, Coke Zero and strawberry milkshakes. ...Back in my drinking days it would've been Jack Daniel's.
  13. I was supposed to do something more productive than sitting on my computer. Oh well... When in Rome.

It happens. I’m so tired I’m not completing even half the chores I wanted to and can’t imagine I’ll even be able to read without dozing in and out. Slowly building up motivation to sweep and do tonight’s dishes snd toss clothes in the laundry and then clean up a mess my cat made by knocking food all over then place while I was at work lol.

  14. Wow, I'm alone on here as I'm typing this post. Be that as it may, it's cool to be back. Sorta.
    Come say hi! ...Or don't.

Hey there! Not exactly sure whether this is the correct way to reply your comment, but whatever. Sorry for taking so long to react. Haven't been around. What's up?

  15. Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Angel, Californication, Avatar & Legend of Korra, Young Justice... ...There has to be more than that...
  16. If it gets me hard, I don't care. Wouldn't waste my time on watching it without the sexual gratification, though.
  17. It's a long and illustrious list, but my absolute all-time favorites include HIM, Type O Negative, The Birthday Massacre, The Cure and The Sisters of Mercy to name a few.
  18. The Bitter Truth was surprisingly good! Not quite their best work, but a solid record. I never quite swallowed Synthesis. I think Bitter Truth had the same electronic elements, but did them more tastefully. I especially liked Yeah Right and Jen's tasty solo. All in all a good record.
  19. I'm afraid I've forgotten mine...
  20. Boy, does this site give me the nostalgic dopamine boost that I longed for? Hah! Anyway, to give you my intro: Extravert Musician Headphones are the bane of my existence, stereo all the way. My taste in art is boring and conventional. I like my coffee black just like my co... I mean metal. Argumentative and difficult to please.
