im really gonna try, but we have over cast here in Milwaukee so that might make it difficult. I got my binoculars ready and im awake so far.

I took some pictures a bit ago before things were happening. But, when I went back outside the overcast was so heavy. Hopefully, I'll get a pic at least.  :witch:

im normally snoring by 9 pm ...the struggle is real.

I keep reminding myself that doubtfully there's going to be another chance to see it like this in my lifetime. So, I need to do so now!

Anyone who says their happy with the way Joe Biden is running the country must be living somewhere Elise. 🦊

I'm not happy with the way he's running things but that doesn't mean I support the Republican party either. Ultimately, I don't like labels for politics but I'd be consider more left leaning than anything. That being said, ideally I'd vote for the best candidate regardless of affiliation. It's just that the Republican party is full of more evil than anything I've seen spat out from a Democrats. It's fueled by hatred, suppression, and fear. Might I add, this is coming from someone who grew up in a heavily Republican family who listened to various far-right commentators and shows 24/7. Literally, everything I heard was hateful and full of ignorance. Because, while there are exceptions a lot DO NOT like to admit when they're wrong. Instead, it's doubled down.

Hello! Oh god, that is a loaded question hehe. This entire year I have been watching all John Waters' films and have become a huge fan. I also love Rob Zombies movies, mostly House of 1,000 Corpses. Other than that, I love the typical horrors and slashers, there are some comedies I like a lot like Big Lebowski and Moonrise Kingdom. What about you? Are you into movies much?

My bf actually has aspects of Dudeism in his practice, has a "I'm the Dude" set as his ringtone for texts, and named a local stray/feral cat we plan on trying to take in the Dude. He loves that movie to bits! Moonrise Kingdom was so good for a Coming of Age film. In terms of films, I tend to like the obscure or movies intentionally made to be bad. The Godzilla series, well, the older movies are a great example of this. My bf has recently been taking me through the Rob Zombie movies and getting me into Slasher films in general. But, Sci-fi, Occult, Documentaries/Docuseries, or Coming of Age films tend to hold a special place in my heart. Psychological Horror is pretty good too.

First of all, I absolutely love this type of content. I am very excited to read this, so I will try to stay calm and write as structured as possible, although I don't promise much.

     Now, let's begin.

First point: Is it possible to say that I have a philosophy; that I have developed it? Or would it be best to say that philosophy has me and that it has developed me? Who uses who? This from Lacan's perspective, if I'm not mistaken, that he talks about how language is the one who speaks us and it is not us who speak it. If the second scenario were true, perhaps we could affirm that by discovering the philosophy that operates us, we could also discover the veil that hides our destiny. If the former were true, there would be the option to choose what and how to think, and that would make us responsible, to a certain extent, for our destiny.

Second point: Regardless if I depart from the  idea that it is possible to choose, a mere assumption that does not convince me because I do not believe in freedom, ergo I am a determinist; or not,  I also share the Socratic paradox that says "I only know that I know nothing". This Socratic Aikido is quite useful within any ethical/moral framework. However, I also share the Aristotelian principle of practical knowledge because it seems to be quite useful to proceed within what we may call Reality. Aristotle is the father of science and that is why he considered the possibility of accessing practical truths. For example fire burns and if you throw something where there is gravity, the object will fall. We only can survive through axiomatic principles like these.

Third point: To answer your question, I consider myself a deterministic materialist. The material conditions in which a person or society grows determine to a large extent the possibilities of accessing or not accessing certain types of practical truths and certain types of moral and/or ethical interpretations.

I need to read over this again when I'm a little less sleep deprived but I enjoyed your commentary! (I'm running on 5 hours of sleep and 2 Red Bulls, aha.) "Or would it be best say that philosophy has me and that it has developed me?"

Couldn't it be both? Keep in my mind, my next statement isn't to force my practice on anyone. It's just an example for this discussion. I'm a witch and my entire reason for beginning my practice was my theory that science and the arcane meet in the body and mind. That if physical resources can produce enough energy power something that we as people should be able to do so through focus and through the power exuded through ritual. But, that doesn't mean the former doesn't have it's own power over us! Some people, swear that the phases of the moon impact their practice. That days of the week are assigned to certain correspondences, you know? It's give and take. And, while it's entirely subjective I think to an extent philosophy. Also, I apologize if this ramble doesn't make much sense. I promise I'll try to clarify when my head is a little clearer and rested.

  6. I'm genuinely curious to see your answers! Currently, I live by the phrase "I know nothing." And, that is my philosophy. I acknowledge the fact that we are ignorant and arrogant. And, that this is a hinderance. As a result, I seek to chase the unknown but acknowledge that the fact that I am indeed "human" but this will probably limit my understanding if not lead to rejection of whatever I may find due to our nature.

    How about YOU?

Oddly the vaccines don’t guarantee you want still get Covid19. Which is why they, governments etc, are pushing for booster shots. You mention it affected your menstruation; have you read any of the reports on the affect the vaccine has on the reproductive system and fertility? 🦊

I don't understand the reasoning behind a person refusing to take the shot for fertility. It doesn't make sense given your chances of being alive to care for any children you might bear goes out the window if you die from COVID. Getting the shot doesn't prevent it entirely but it does reduce the risk and I'm good with that. And, correct! It did effect my cycle and I've been open about that issue as it's something openly being studied in people AFAB. After each shot, I started bleeding. It lasted 4 months and I bled every other week. My experience wasn't too bad as the bleeding wasn't too heavy to make me ill. It was just a brief unsettling period in time.

  9. Oh wow! I see some great shows listed. The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy was my favorite childhood cartoon aside from almost everything Scooby-Doo. For anime, my favorite was Sailor Moon. In some ways, my interest in Sailor Moon ended up being prolific given how much of the show was based around aspects of Paganism, Astrology, or in some ways referenced witchcraft. I'm sure my overzealous Christian mother would've loved to hear that as it would've given her more ammo for her conspiracy theories about "demons" anime.

  10. Well, considering the entire sub-culture or variants of said sub-culture are music based with fashion as a secondary aspect. I'd say, that I qualify. I listen to a lot of Trad Goth sh*t and am a bit of a Rivethead. I need more harsh and heavy beats, man!
